Highlands’ Own TV Show!
Heart of the High Country is now in its fifth season on Northland Cable Television’s community channel, Channel 14, covering Highlands and Cashiers, North Carolina. In its first season in 2004 the show became an instant hit with Northland’s viewers. Long-time Highlands’ residents Arthur Hancock and Katie Brugger are the producers of the show: they film, edit, and do everything required to put the show up on the air.
Heart of the High Country features interviews with interesting people, special events, music, community participation, schools sports, and more, with a new one-hour show every week.

Heart of the High Country airs six times a day—8 am, noon, 5 pm, 7 pm, 10 pm, and midnight—seven days a week.
The Visitor Information Program covers everything the area has to offer: waterfalls, hikes, fishing, golf, dining, shopping, music, and more.
Mountain Home Showcase is devoted exclusively to everything related to the home. If you’re dreaming of your own mountain home, this will be the program to watch. Every show will contain a tour of a beautiful area homes or garden for ideas and inspiration. Interior designers, landscapers, and more will offer tips for creating the perfect mountain home.
In the hours when programs are not playing the channel shows beautiful scenes from their North Carolina Mountain Video series accompanied by classical music.
DVDs of every show are available for free rental at Movie Stop and the Hudson Library in Highlands.
